Fiber Optic Cleaning Tools
There are many causes for network or equipment failures, but one basic and most important factor in network performance is a clean optical path between cable connections. Any contaminant on a connector end face can cause a system or equipment to behave erratically or even fail. The contaminant can introduce bit errors forcing even high speed connections to grind to a halt as the system cope with these errors by forcing retransmissions.
With the smaller fiber core sizes, the need for cleaning is even more imperative to ensure optimum performance of the cable. Some common contaminants that can impact the performance are, air particulates, human oils from hands, residuals from solvents or water, and dust. Fortunately there are very simple ways to address these potential issues. We recommend cleaning the connector end face or port whenever a new connection has to be made.
